Mandeville Plastic Surgery Practice Offers New Treatments and Procedures
Mandeville, La. (PRWEB) July 22, 2008 -- A local plastic surgeon, Michele Cooper, M.D., is pleased to announce the availability of two new treatments at her Mandeville plastic surgery practice. The first is a cutting edge lip implantation procedure for women who are unhappy with thin, poorly-defined lips.
Traditionally, women have chosen collagen or injectable fillers such as Restylane® to enhance the look of their lips. These treatments do indeed work to plump up the appearance of the lips, but their downside is that the results they create are only temporary. Many of Dr. Cooper's patients have been looking for a lasting way to safely enhance their lips.
"I've been keeping an eye out for permanent lip augmentation methods," says Dr. Cooper. "And one product in particular has been able to meet my high standards - the FulFil lip implant from Evera Medical. This implant is similar to a saline breast implant, though obviously on a much smaller scale."
During treatment, a small incision in made on one side of the lip and the implant shell is carefully inserted. Once in place, Dr. Cooper fills the implant to create the patient's preferred look
"My patients say that the implants feel remarkably natural," adds Dr. Cooper. "And though the implant is considered 'permanent,' I can always perform a quick procedure to remove the implant if the augmented look is no longer desired."
Another new treatment at Dr. Cooper's Mandeville plastic surgery practice uses BOTOX® to treat men and women who are living with excessive sweating. BOTOX is most popularly known as a minimally-invasive wrinkle treatment option, but in fact it has many other uses in the medical field. Treatment of excessive sweating is an increasingly popular use of this injectable product.
"Hyperhidrosis can affect many areas of the body, not just the underarms," says Dr. Cooper. "Excess perspiration may occur on the hands, feet, groin area, or even the face. BOTOX is a welcome choice for people who previously had few options - aggressively using antiperspirants, taking pills with unwanted side effects, or undergoing surgery that isn't effective for a significant percentage of people."
Using BOTOX for hyperhidrosis has an excellent track record and is quickly becoming the treatment option of choice for dermatologists and plastic surgeons in Mandeville, LA along with the rest of the state and nation.
Michele Cooper, M.D., is a board-certified plastic surgeon who completed her general surgery and plastic surgery training in New Orleans at Louisiana State University and the Charity Hospital system. Dr. Cooper performs a full range of cosmetic procedures and post-bariatric plastic surgery (www.michelecoopermd.com). Her office is in Mandeville, Louisiana. In 2002 she was awarded by the Louisiana Society of Plastic Surgeons for her outstanding research.
