Why Do Women Want So Much Plastic Surgery?

You probably would have heard popular television programs such as, The Swan, Extreme Makeover, and MTV's ?I want a famous face?. The plastic surgery scene is reigning popularity such that they even continued with The Swan 2. Over the years, the public?s mindset on plastic surgery has changed dramatically and more and more people are looking to such surgeries to maintain their beauty even as they age.

For the modern day girl, plastic surgery seems to be the perfect solution to all their flaws that occur to their body or face. You can practically change your entire face and body through a series of painful surgeries. It is just that simple, you tell your surgeon whatever you want to look like and close your eyes for the surgery and voila, the next thing you know is that you do not recognize that beautiful person staring back at you in the mirror. Such instant gratification entices more and more women to think that the idea of going under the needles is highly acceptable.

Actually the underlying reason for more and more people going through plastic surgery is that they want to feel more confident and better about themselves. They want to have a better life where other people would admire them for their looks instead of their ugliness. This can bring about a better sense of confidence and boosted self-esteem. It is surprising the wonders that the needle can do for a woman?s happiness in life.

However, there are those that go under the knife to look younger for professional reasons. Being young does have its advantages and besides just being young, having beauty is also another added advantage for working professionals. First time job applicants are chosen partly due to first impression and studies have shown that first impression accounts for 80% of what another person impression of you. People also undergo plastic surgery to change certain parts of their body that they dislike.

There is nothing wrong to desire to look better or prettier, in fact, women are vain creatures and there is no denying that! However, is it worth it to go under the knife just to adjust the slight crook in your nose, or just because you prefer to have a higher nose? Do the pros or plastic surgery really outweigh the cons? Why not look for alternatives to improve your body shape or flaws in your facial features? There will always be a less expensive and better alternative to going under the knife.

With the myriad of advertisements in the media, there is no running away from plastic surgery and it is all around us. Definitely there is an influence for us to turn to plastic surgery; even more so with the countless amounts of beauty pageant shows that seem to depict that the perfect lady is a beautiful one. Of course, it does not come as a surprise when I say that America?s role models are Nicole Richie and Paris Hilton or even Lindsay Lohan.

However, this does not go to say that plastic surgery is all bad. In certain cases because of severe obesity, your doctor may advise you to undergo plastic surgery to remove the fats from your body as it may pose to be serious health problem. Thus in such cases, plastic surgery can be more of a boon than bane.

Plastic surgery is just another escapade for the model wannabes and it can get addictive as it seems to be an instant gratification kind of thing. Once they tried on a nose job and love it, they would just keep asking for more. Quit on quick fixes and embrace natural beauty instead of having a perfect body with a burnt pocket.
